PART ONE
Initial Provisions
Objective
ARTICLE 1- (1) The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the procedures and principles regarding the purpose, fields of activity, governing bodies, duties of the governing bodies and the working style of Üsküdar University Strategic Research Application and Research Center.
Scope
ARTICLE 2- (1) This Regulation covers the provisions regarding the purpose, fields of activity, governing bodies, duties of the governing bodies and working style of Üsküdar University Strategic Research Application and Research Center.
Basis
ARTICLE 3- (1) This Regulation has been prepared based on subparagraph (2) of subparagraph (d) of the first paragraph (d) of Article 7 and Article 14 of the Higher Education Law dated 4/11/1981 and numbered 2547.
Definitions
ARTICLE 4- (1) In this Regulation;
a) Advisory Board: The Advisory Board of the Center,
b) Center: Üsküdar University Strategic Researches Application and Research Center,
c) Director: Director of the Center,
ç) Rector: Rector of Üsküdar University,
d) University: Üsküdar University,
e) Board of Directors: The Board of Directors of the Center,
refers to.
Purpose and Fields of Activity of the Center
Purpose of the Center
ARTICLE 5- (1) The purpose of the Center is to carry out academic studies by examining the developments that closely concern our country within the scope of psychology, political science and international relations, history, philosophy and sociology disciplines, which have a directing effect on political, economic and sociological developments, to develop original projects and to build academic cooperation with relevant institutions / organizations on solid foundations.
Areas of activity of the Center
ARTICLE 6- (1) The fields of activity of the Center are as follows:
a) To contribute to the intellectual development of the academic members of the departments of political science and international relations, psychology, history, philosophy and sociology in the faculty of human and social sciences at the university by supporting their scientific research on the subject.
b) To develop domestic and international academic cooperation at the University.
c) To contribute to the academic literature in the field by creating original scientific works and to develop national/international projects.
ç) Within the framework of the academic studies and projects planned to be carried out, primarily to increase the qualified studies and projects of the University in the disciplines of philosophy, political science and international relations, psychology, history and sociology.
d) To create social and political added value in our country through qualified scientific studies.
e) To closely follow the developments in political, political economy, political economy, socio-politics, socio-politics, socio-cultural, political-psychology, political sociology and psychology through national and international projects, academic publications and scientific activities within the framework of international academic cooperation.
f) To support and contribute to the original and qualified studies of international researchers in a comprehensive, multifaceted and multilingual manner, and to reveal its difference and awareness.
PART THREE
Governing Bodies and Duties of the Center
Governing bodies of the Center
ARTICLE 7- (1) The governing bodies of the Center are as follows:
a) Director.
b) Board of Directors.
c) Advisory Board.
Director and deputy directors
ARTICLE 8- (1) The Director is appointed by the Rector for two years from among the faculty members of the University who have studies related to the fields of activity of the Center and who have interdisciplinary scientific studies and publications within the framework of the disciplines of psychology, political science and international relations, philosophy, history and sociology. The Director whose term expires may be reappointed by the same procedure.
(2) In order to assist the Director in his/her work, the Rector may appoint up to two persons from among the faculty members of the University as deputy directors. Deputy directors perform the duties assigned by the Director. The duty of the deputy directors ends when the duty of the Director ends.
Duties of the Director
ARTICLE 9- (1) The duties of the Director are as follows:
a) To represent the Center.
b) To chair the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board.
c) To implement the decisions taken by the Board of Directors.
ç) To prepare the report on the activities of the Center at the end of each year and the activity plan for the following year approved by the Board of Directors.
d) To convene the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board when necessary.
Board of Directors
ARTICLE 10- (1) The Board of Directors consists of seven members in total, chaired by the Director, the deputy directors and four members appointed by the Rector among the faculty members of the University who have studies related to the fields of activity of the Center by the University Board of Directors.
(2) The term of office of the members of the Board of Directors is two years. Members whose term expires may be reappointed. A new member is appointed to complete the remaining term in place of the member who leaves before the end of his/her term.
(3) The Board of Directors convenes at least three times a year under the direction of the Director. It may convene upon the call of the Director when necessary. The Board of Directors convenes by absolute majority and decisions are taken by majority of votes. In case of equality of votes, the decision is deemed to be made in favor of the Director's vote.
Duties of the Board of Directors
ARTICLE 11- (1) The duties of the Board of Directors are as follows:
a) a) To prepare the Center's research, application and training program and annual activity plan and to take decisions on related issues.
b) To determine the administrative and other requirements of the Center.
Advisory Board
ARTICLE 12- (1) The Advisory Board consists of a maximum of fifteen people who have studies related to the fields of activity of the Center under the chairmanship of the Director. The members of the Advisory Board are appointed by the Rector for two years. Members from outside the University may also be appointed to the Advisory Board.
(2) The Advisory Board convenes on a date to be determined by the Director, at least twice a year, when deemed necessary by the Director. No majority is required for a meeting.
Duties of the Advisory Board
ARTICLE 13- (1) The Advisory Board makes suggestions and contributions about the work of the Center.
SECTION FOUR
Miscellaneous and Final Provisions
Expenditure authority
ARTICLE 14- (1) The expenditure authority of the Center is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees may delegate this authority to the Rector or the Director.
Cases where there is no provision
ARTICLE 15- (1) In cases where there are no provisions in this Regulation, the provisions of other relevant legislation and the decisions of the Senate are applied.
Effectiveness
ARTICLE 16- (1) This Regulation shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
Execution
ARTICLE 17- (1) The provisions of this Regulation shall be executed by the Rector of Üsküdar University.
