Addiction, which has become an important public health problem in the world and in our country, is a brain disease that needs to be prevented and treated. Especially the use of illegal substances has become a problem that threatens the whole world. The change in the brain structure and the impact on the individual's social, family, work and school environment also affect the individual and his/her family.
Addiction, which has biological, psychological and physiological effects, can develop due to many reasons such as social environment, family influence, sense of curiosity, especially during adolescence. It is very important to raise awareness of individuals, parents and children in order to prevent the development of addiction and to move away from the understanding that one time does not matter.
Üsküdar University established the Addiction Application and Research Center in January 2014. Our main goal is to organize trainings, conferences, seminars and conduct scientific research in this center. While we aim to inform students who receive education in the field of addiction and experts working in this field in our activities, our main mission is to raise awareness of the society.
