Located in Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus, the Opticianry Laboratory is located on the 1st floor, has a closed area of approximately 50 m2 and has a capacity of 25 people. It is designed for students to practice the theoretical trainings they have seen in the courses for 4 semesters starting from the 1st grade.
Design of Opticianry Laboratory:
Laboratory studies are carried out in order for students to gain skills and use their professional knowledge in practice. Our laboratory is designed taking into account the importance of the eye and vision. Since most of the students will perform a profession involving craftsmanship, it is built on a comfortable and large area. The laboratory light and ventilation system is organized taking into account the nature of the work to be done.
Considering the developing technology, increasing product diversity and the socioeconomic status of our graduates, care has been taken to ensure that they have the equipment they can perform their profession under all conditions. It is aimed to enable our students to be specialized in both digital and manual systems.
Materials in Opticianry Laboratory
There are manual and digital focometer, digital moldless and molded automatic machine, digital and manual facet drill, hand stones, computer-aided measuring device that allows perfect measurement, pupillameter, other measuring instruments, painting machine and small hand tools to help all students use their time effectively. (All designed according to the structures of optical materials).
All consumables, optical lenses, contact lenses and other areas, all original strong stock is offered in the Opticianry Laboratory for our students to use.
On-site training is provided for the maintenance of optical instruments and the solution of simple problems, and students are given the ability to identify problems such as mechanical malfunctions, simple part replacements, etc. that they will encounter during their work.
