In the “RİNAP Monthly Talk” program organized by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Risale-i Nur Research Platform (RİNAP), “The Creation of Man in the Most Perfect Form” was discussed. The guest of RİNAP’s regular monthly conversation program was Prof. Dr. Alaaddin Başar from Atatürk University.
“We created man in the most perfect form (Ahsen Takvim)”
In the program held via Zoom, Başar stated that ‘Man was created in the most perfect form (Ahsen Takvim)’; “In Surah At-Tin, Ayah 4, it is stated, ‘We created man in the most perfect form (Ahsen Takvim).’ It is written that he was created in the most beautiful, valuable way. In a commentary (tafsir), Ahsen Takvim is described as ‘Man being created in the most beautiful way, capable of reaching the most beautiful state both physically and spiritually.’ The most important verses are located at the beginning of the Risales. The verse regarding our creation in the most perfect form (Ahsen Takvim) is also at the beginning. He added, “The continuation of this lesson is the entire Kulliyah (collection of Risale-i Nur).”
“Man is the only being that manifests the Divine Names (Asma)”
Başar, speaking about the essence of Ahsen Takvim, said; “‘The Wise Creator has bestowed upon man's spiritual essence an infinitely great weakness and an immense poverty, so that he may become a comprehensive, wide mirror to the boundless manifestations of an infinitely Powerful, Merciful Omnipotent One and an infinitely Rich, Generous Being.’ This is the essence of Ahsen Takvim. In this sense, there is no other addressee. Man is the only being that manifests the Divine Names (Asma).”
“Man consists of spirit and body”
Başar, speaking about man's spirit and body within Ahsen Takvim, said; “Man consists of spirit and body. When speaking about man's creation in Ahsen Takvim, we will primarily take his spirit as the basis. He states, ‘The body is the spirit's aura.’ Since the human spirit was created in Ahsen Takvim, the body is also in Ahsen Takvim. There is a perfect correlation between the two. Because the human spirit was created to understand, express what it understands, and write, its body was also created to speak.”
“Man's weakness and poverty are infinite”
Başar, speaking about why man was created with weakness (acz) and poverty (fakr), said; “Weakness (acz) and poverty (fakr) do not mean defect or deficiency. The essence of servitude (to God) consists of these three matters. They are referred to as weakness (acz), poverty (fakr), and deficiency (naks). Man's weakness (acz) and poverty (fakr) are infinite. Man is in need of everything. We are in need of eyes, this is weakness (acz); we are in need of hands, this is poverty (fakr). We have infinite poverty (fakr) and we are not capable of doing any of it. This also demonstrates weakness (acz),” he pointed out.
