Tarhan, “Covid-19 Salgını ve Psiko-Sosyal Sonuçları” kapsamında değerlendirmelerde bulundu.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, who participated as an honored speaker in the online program held within the scope of pandemic measures, made significant evaluations in the context of “Covid-19 Pandemic and Psycho-Social Consequences”.
“We are going to the moon, but we don’t know our neighbor!”
Tarhan started his speech by addressing today's realities; “The world is developing, we are doing studies in the field of brain, however; Our houses are big, but our families are small. We get more promotions, but we have less common sense. There are advanced medicines, but our health is insufficient. We are going to the moon, but we don't know our neighbor. We have high income, but less peace. High IQ contains less emotion. There is good information, but we have less virtue. We have countless relationships, but our true love rate is almost zero. We have many friends on social media, but in reality, we have no real friends. We have the biggest televisions in our homes, but just as few books. We have the most expensive watches on our wrists, but none of us have time. These are today's problems. We live with these problems.”
“There are lessons to be learned from the pandemic”
Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, noting that there are lessons to be learned from the pandemic, said, “Is the pandemic a danger or an opportunity? Our freedom was restricted, but our ability to delay gratification could develop. Our physical and spiritual comfort decreased, but we had more time to improve ourselves and strengthen family ties. Our pleasure and speed-oriented lifestyle was restricted, but we were able to discover new interests, for those who could learn these lessons, of course. We couldn't use some of our rights, but we also realized that others have rights. We were very harsh on nature, but our awareness of global pollution and climate change increased. For example, Uludağ became visible from Istanbul. Economic and social mobility can pollute the environment. We saw all these. We learned that not only economic prosperity but also spiritual prosperity is important.”
