The annual meeting of SFRR-E (Society for Free Radical Research International) was held this year with the theme “From Molecules to Tissues: Redox Biology in Action.” The meeting, which included international participants, presented many innovative applications to the attendees with its scientific richness. Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kartal Özer, a member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine and Founder of METIFLAM, attended the meeting. Özer chaired the Women in Science (WIS) Forum.

The SFRR-E (Society for Free Radical Research International) Annual Meeting was held with the theme “From Molecules to Tissues: Redox Biology in Action” between June 5-7 at the Mövenpick Hotel İstanbul Kurtköy.
Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kartal Özer Chaired the Women in Science Forum
Within the scope of the organized meeting, Prof. Dr. Nesrin Kartal Özer, a member of the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine and Founder of METIFLAM, chaired the WIS forum. She enabled 4 distinguished Women Scientists from different countries to share their views and suggestions by directing diverse and meaningful questions.
The Women in Science (WIS) Forum, a subcommittee of the congress, is a dynamic structure aiming to support and develop women's careers, scientific achievements, and leadership roles in the field of redox biology and medicine.
Aims to Expand the Roles of Women Scientists…
The aims of the Women in Science (WIS) Forum are:
- To expand the participation, visibility, and leadership roles of women scientists in all societal activities,
- To invite women scientists to present their research at various conferences,
- To provide training workshops on essential career skills,
- To promote leadership development and opportunities for young scientists,
- To encourage the use of collaborative models that maximize openness, comprehensiveness, and mutual success.
