African musician and peace ambassador Enzo Ikah's new book “Invisible Chains” has been published by Üsküdar University Publications. Enzo Ikah makes a significant contribution to the historical stage with his book Invisible Chains. Stating that he questions the West's false narratives about Africa and draws attention to the effects of psychological colonialism, Ikah said; “War is the story of foolish men, peace is the story of wise men. It is better to walk without knowing where you are going than to sit and do nothing.”
“Africa's history should no longer be told solely from the hunter's perspective”
Emphasizing that Africa's history is often told from a Western perspective, which does not reflect the truth, Enzo Ikah said; “I studied Psychology at Sorbonne University in France. What I learned in psychology is that if a person repeats the same lie for several years, and no one manages to deny it, that lie risks becoming the truth. If an animal tells you it can speak, it is probably lying. For several centuries, human history has been distorted as if white were the only color of the rainbow, especially monopolized by Westerners. In all the photos displayed at Sorbonne University, I saw scientists, researchers, inventors, and philosophers presented as Western, or even less Asian or African. I call this 'intellectual genocide'. However, science proves to us that mathematics, geometry, medicine, architecture, sports, and art originated from Africa. When you visit their museums, you will only see the looters of the explorer's war as proof of this. This means they did not have civilizations. On the other side of history, Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and Sumerian civilizations are recognized. Our famous hunter, the West, tries to conceal its true history and present to the rest of the world that Africa's history has never been anything other than a history of hunger, disease, poverty, and wars. Africa's history must no longer be told solely from the hunter's perspective. Don't let them deceive you.”
“They imposed their languages, religions, names, and education on the rest of the world”
Speaking about his book titled “Invisible Chains” and emphasizing that Western empires managed to control the thoughts of their colonized peoples by creating invisible chains in their minds, Ikah said; “Since they could not continue fighting every day, after seizing the stolen heritage to elevate their empire, they created religious myths and philosophies, establishing invisible chains at a psychological level in the thoughts of the colonized, and they succeeded. They imposed their languages, religions, names, and education on the rest of the world. This is the true foundation of Western empires that continue to pull the sheet to their side and invisibly chain the brains of non-Western citizens.”
“Wars are not only fought on the front lines”
Underlining that the purpose of writing his book “Invisible Chains” is the injustices done to the African people and to condemn exploitation, Enzo Ikah said; “It has been a long time since I said there are people who condemn this, and with them, I said I condemn slavery, looting, and all the evils we have done and continue to do to the African people. When we cry, we need to register for projects that will lead to reconstruction, because a rejected project cannot have validity. After 60 years of independence, we should want to take control of our destiny. As a child of Africa, I too am trying to contribute on an intellectual level. Because wars are not only fought on the front lines. Invisible chains also trace Africa's future, explaining how to go from low-level men to great men. If Africa brought the West to its current state, then on a psychological level, this means we can do more, and better.”
“War is the story of foolish men, peace is the story of wise men”
Emphasizing that it is not easy to destroy the invisible chains and suggestions in people's minds, but that peace is what matters, Ikah said; “I know it is not easy to destroy these suggestions in people's minds, because it has taken centuries. War is the story of foolish men, peace is the story of wise men. It is better to walk without knowing where you are going than to sit and do nothing.”
