Partnership meeting held with Ümraniye for the YAŞAMKOR Project

Within the scope of the “Protecting Independent Living (YAŞAMKOR) Project,” carried out by Üsküdar University and the Therapeutic Brain Mapping Association and supported by the Directorate General for Relations with Civil Society of the Ministry of Interior, a partnership meeting was held with the Ümraniye District Directorate of National Education. The meeting highlighted that science-based social projects strengthen the future of students.

The meeting, hosted by Ümraniye District Director of National Education Mustafa Gözen, was attended by Üsküdar University Social Contribution Coordinator and Director of the Young Minds Academy Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar, Asst. Prof. Görkem Altıntaş, Clinical Psychologist Edibe Serra Erol, and Project Administrative Assistant and Youth President Faruk Dündar.

A new model of cooperation in education and psychosocial support…

During the meeting, the project team presented the project’s goals and activity plan, focusing on developing young people’s independent living skills, strengthening psychosocial resilience, and reinforcing cooperation among families, schools, and universities.

Within the model to be implemented in educational institutions in the Ümraniye district, it was stated that awareness trainings, guidance sessions, and science-based applied activities are planned for teachers, counseling services, and students.

Mustafa Gözen: “Science-based social projects strengthen students’ futures”

Speaking at the meeting, Ümraniye District Director of National Education Mustafa Gözen emphasized the importance of the project on behalf of the education community. Gözen said: “Such science-based social projects contribute significantly to strengthening our students not only academically but also emotionally and socially, thereby empowering their future. We value Üsküdar University’s meaningful initiative and hope that our cooperation will pave the way for future joint efforts.”

Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar: “YAŞAMKOR is a strong example of social contribution”

Üsküdar University Social Contribution Coordinator Asst. Prof. Nebiye Yaşar emphasized that the project is a concrete reflection of the university’s vision of social contribution. Yaşar stated: “The YAŞAMKOR Project is a social innovation model that aims to strengthen young individuals’ independent living skills, support mental health, and increase their active participation in social life. The support of our National Education community is highly valuable for the sustainability of this model. We believe that together, we will build a strong future.”

Strengthening joint efforts is the goal

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to strengthen joint efforts in the fields of social innovation, psychosocial support, and youth development through the cooperation established between educational institutions and the university.
