The pandemic reminded organizations how important a process planning and efficiency are. Experts, emphasizing the difficulty of being planned and efficient especially in the remote working model, state that it does not seem possible for organizations with weak planning to remain in the global market.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Department of Industrial Engineering Dr. Lecturer Hasan Çiçek made evaluations regarding the importance of planning and efficiency.
The first stage in all processes is to make a business plan
Dr. Lecturer Hasan Çiçek, who defines planning as “the process of foresight and decision-making to achieve set goals,” said, “Of course, when planning, we benefit from our past experiences. The first thing we do in all our processes is to plan. In production systems, efficiency is the ratio between input and output. The aim in efficiency is to achieve maximum output with minimum input.”
Competitiveness depends on good planning and efficient work
Çiçek stated that the competitiveness of organizations depends on their good planning and efficient work, and said, “Therefore, it does not seem possible for organizations with weak planning to remain in the global market. In organizations with low efficiency, costs will be high, thus they will fall behind their competitors. Calculations used in planning and efficiency guide the organization and play a role in the effectiveness of these processes. Of course, today's software programs provide great support to organizations in this regard.”
Dr. Hasan Çiçek: “The pandemic taught us that we need to be efficient and planned”
Dr. Lecturer Hasan Çiçek stated, “The pandemic reminded organizations how important good planning and efficiency are as processes,” and added:
“Being planned and efficient is not very easy, especially in the remote working model. However, pandemic conditions taught us all that we need to be efficient and planned, even if we work remotely. In this process, I believe the most prominent areas were education, banking, and marketing. We encountered distance education for the first time, and its good planning was important for the efficiency of education. Our university made very good planning in this regard. We immediately switched to distance education and I believe we provided as efficient service as possible. In conclusion, it is possible to say this: if organizations want to be successful and competitive, they must effectively plan and maximize their efficiency.”
