Prof. Dr. Colin Turner, known for his books, scientific, and popular works, and for his studies in Islamic sciences at Durham University in England, translated the works of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi into English. Prof. Dr. Turner has been working on Risale-i Nur for approximately forty years. There are books and articles on the subject.
Bediüzzaman Said Nursi's "Hastalar Risalesi" (On Ilness), "Ramazan Risalesi" (On Fasting: Meanings and Messages from the Month of Ramadan), and "Küçük Sözler" (“The Short Words”) have been translated into English.
A detailed study was carried out for the books, examined by a translation and review committee, covering everything from the translation itself to font selection, introductory text, and cover design. Emphasis was placed on the simplicity and fluidity of the language in the translation of the books. The difference from previous translations is the use of a simple and fluent style that everyone can understand.
The translations of these books will be uploaded to the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Risale-i Nur Araştırmaları Platformu (RİNAP) website in the coming days and will be made accessible free of charge.
