An event titled “Traditional Treatment Methods” was organized by the Physiotherapy Program of Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) and the Physiotherapy Club affiliated with the Health, Culture and Sports (SKS) Department. At the event, a holistic perspective, the relationship between traditional methods and evidence-based physiotherapy approaches, and clinical application examples were evaluated.

The Place of Traditional Treatment Methods in Physiotherapy Discussed
Asst. Prof. Esra Erğun Keşli, Head of SHMYO Physiotherapy Program and Advisor to the Physiotherapy Club, led the event held in Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus Emir Nebi 2 hall. The guest of the event was Podologist and Meridian Therapist Emine Karasu.
The Place of Traditional Approaches in Physiotherapy Was Evaluated
At the event, Podologist and Meridian Therapist Emine Karasu provided information on the place and application areas of traditional and complementary health approaches in modern physiotherapy practice. Sharing her experiences with the participants, Karasu emphasized the role of different treatment approaches in patient-oriented assessment and application processes.
Emphasizing the importance of a holistic perspective in evaluating traditional and complementary approaches, Karasu drew attention to the need for properly addressing the relationship between different applications and physiotherapy practice.
Holistic Perspective and Clinical Application Examples Were Discussed
The seminar also evaluated how traditional treatment methods can be related to evidence-based physiotherapy approaches. While the importance of a holistic (holistic) perspective in approaching patients was emphasized, examples of applications encountered in the field were also shared with the participants.
The event, which attracted great interest from students, concluded after participants' questions were answered with a group photo session.
