Nutritional approaches in rheumatological diseases evaluated

An event titled “Nutrition in Rheumatological Diseases: Scientific Ways to Manage Inflammation” was organized by the Physiotherapy Program of Üsküdar University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) and the Physiotherapy Club, operating under the Department of Health, Culture and Sports (SKS). At the event, the role of nutrition in rheumatological diseases was discussed, focusing on inflammation and autoimmunity.

Asst. Prof. Esra Erğun Keşli, Head of the SHMYO Physiotherapy Program and Advisor to the Physiotherapy Club, guided the event held at Üsküdar University Çarşı Campus, Emir Nebi 2 hall. The guest of the event was Dr. Dietitian Ali Fatih Babal. 

The role of nutrition in rheumatological diseases was evaluated

At the event, Asst. Prof. Ali Fatih Babal evaluated the role of nutrition in rheumatological diseases from a scientific perspective, focusing on inflammation and autoimmunity. 

At the event, where the relationship between nutritional habits and disease processes was highlighted, different nutritional approaches that participants might encounter in daily life were also discussed.

Gluten-free and anti-inflammatory nutritional approaches discussed

Within the scope of the event, the gluten-free nutritional approach, common misconceptions in supplement use, and anti-inflammatory nutritional principles were discussed in detail. While the topics were evaluated in light of scientific data, emphasis was placed on the importance of accessing correct information about nutrition and individualized approaches.

It was emphasized that nutrition in rheumatological diseases should be evaluated not only in terms of daily eating habits but also in relation to inflammatory and autoimmune processes.

The event concluded after the presentation of certificates.
