Founder of the International Students of Islamic Psychology (ISIP) Association, Fatima Ahmad, and her accompanying delegation visited Üsküdar University. The delegation met with the President of Üsküdar University, Psychiatrist Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, to discuss the integration of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s scientific and spiritual legacy into Islamic psychology. As part of the visit, a Memorandum of Educational Cooperation (EMoU) was signed between ISIP and Üsküdar University.

The meeting, held in the Senate Hall at Üsküdar University’s Main Campus, was attended by Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, ISIP Founder Fatima Ahmad, ISIP Board Member and Central Asia–Russia Regional Representative Lokman Kanat, Üsküdar University Risale-i Nur Research Platform (RINAP) Board Member Prof. İlham Miraç, and Üsküdar University Director of International Relations Peyman Jaferi.

Scientific collaboration and joint projects discussed
Based in Canada, ISIP is an international organization with over 30,000 members in 25 countries, aiming to promote scientific collaboration and joint research projects among Muslim psychologists.
During the meeting, ISIP Founder Fatima Ahmad emphasized the importance of re-examining the legacies of great Islamic thinkers such as Rumi and Imam al-Ghazali through the lens of contemporary psychology.
Prof. Nevzat Tarhan spoke about his internationally acclaimed book Masnavi Therapy, sharing the scientific foundations he explored in the work. The two institutions exchanged ideas on potential joint research and projects to be carried out in the future.


Memorandum of Educational Cooperation signed
As part of the meeting, a Memorandum of Educational Cooperation (EMoU) was signed between Üsküdar University and ISIP. This protocol aims to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions, support joint research initiatives, and contribute to the global development of Islamic psychology.

Presentation on “The Historical Foundations of Islamic Psychology”
As part of the same event, Fatima Ahmad delivered a presentation titled “The Historical Foundations of Islamic Psychology and Its Relationship with Modern Psychology” at Üsküdar University’s South Campus RINAP Hall. The presentation was attended by RINAP Board Members Prof. İlham Miraç, Asst. Prof. Nafi Yalçın, Gürcan Onat, and RINAP Secretary Seyda Ünlükul.

Exchange of gifts at the end of the visit
At the end of the program, Prof. Nevzat Tarhan presented signed English editions of his books to the guests.

As a gesture of gratitude, the ISIP delegation gifted Prof. Tarhan a traditional Kazakh national robe.
