Üsküdar Üniversitesi announced that “Al-Mizan: A Covenant for the Earth,” a global guide based on Islam's teachings on the environment, has now been translated into eight languages worldwide. The book has reached readers in English, French, Arabic, Turkish, Bahasa Indonesia, Urdu, and Swahili.
As part of this important initiative, the University is proud to be part of an environmentally conscious global movement, with work actively continuing on translating the book into Bahasa Malaysia, Bosnian, and Kurdish. This step is highlighted as a significant milestone for Al-Mizan to reach more communities and spread its message.
Goal: Bringing together communities from different faiths to find solutions to environmental problems
Al-Mizan offers a profound Islamic perspective on environmental ethics, emphasizing the principles of balance, justice, and compassion that shape our relationship with the natural world. This work also aims to bring together communities from different faiths to unite around common values and generate solutions to environmental problems.
By making Al-Mizan accessible in as many languages as possible, the aim is to create a universal guide that inspires ecological responsibility and interfaith dialogue. Alongside Laudato Si (Pope Francis' encyclical subtitled 'on care for our common home'), this work presents a vision based on justice and harmony for a sustainable future, inviting everyone to take action.
Call to Muslim academics and translators!
Üsküdar Üniversitesi invites Muslim academics and translators to contribute to the work by translating Al-Mizan into Spanish, Russian, and other languages.
Honored to support this meaningful endeavor and be part of the vision to create a sustainable world for future generations, Üsküdar Üniversitesi also called for collective action to embrace the principles offered by Al-Mizan for a more just, compassionate, and sustainable world.
