The Journalism Working Group aims to examine, from a critical perspective, the rapidly evolving news ecosystem in the digital age and the effects of this transformation on journalistic practices. The working group focuses on current issues facing the profession, such as editorial independence, media structures, technological transformation, artificial intelligence applications, and changing news production processes.
Rapid technological advancements in the media sector necessitate a reevaluation of the processes involved in the production, distribution, and consumption of news. In this regard, our working group aims to conduct research focused on journalistic ethics, social media journalism, citizen journalism, artificial intelligence and algorithm-based journalism, digital news practices, and new media
approaches.
