IHAMER (Human Rights Studies Application and Research Center) Message from the Director

In world history, the issue of human rights and equality has always been mentioned as an individual and social problem. In this context, the problem of the incompatibility of rights, interests and needs on the individual and social levels has historically been solved within the framework of an authoritarian, totalitarian and status quoist construction of politics, economy and civil society. Therefore, a human value-oriented foundation that is compatible with social rights while centering on individual rights on a general scale has not been developed.

In the 21st century, the problems faced in the context of human rights and equality are shaped by this historical background. At this point, examples of differences in religion, language, gender, ethnicity and thought are met with violence-oriented words and actions. Therefore, racist, chauvinistic, fanatical, discriminatory and sexist ideologies are used as a tool that renders political, economic and sociological problems invisible.

IHAMER will strive to build a foundation of rights and equality centered on the individual and society against these historical and contemporary problems. With this motive, IHAMER sets out to contribute to these points through research and application studies by focusing on the points of universal and local values based on historical and contemporary accumulation, which are seen positive in terms of individual and social aspects.
