IHAMER attaches importance to conducting research in the fields of human rights law and humanitarian law by using an interdisciplinary and scientific method based on national and international law; for the recognition, protection, implementation and development of human rights. Within this importance, IHAMER aims to contribute to the internalization, sustainability, development and implementation of basic universal values such as human rights, equality, democracy, freedom and justice on society in general and Üsküdar University in particular.
Objectives
IHAMER, in cooperation with the Human Rights and Equality Institution of Turkey (TİHEK), focuses on conducting research and studies on human rights and equality with academics and students in all associate, undergraduate and graduate programs of Üsküdar University. Within the framework of this focus, IHAMER will carry out various activities such as research planning, project development and implementation, and course-seminar organization on human rights and equality for the academic development of academics and students at Üsküdar University in an interdisciplinary cooperation.
The conferences, seminars, symposiums and workshops that IHAMER aims to organize will provide a platform for academics working on human rights and equality to exchange information. On the other hand, students in all associate, undergraduate and graduate programs will be able to receive training on human rights and equality by participating in the certificate programs provided by IHAMER and will have the opportunity to study on this subject. Therefore, IHAMER aims to build a theoretical, practical and methodological holistic thinking around an interdisciplinary context based on the collaboration of academics and students on human rights and equality.
Areas of Activity
IHAMER's fields of activity based on demography, culture, education and professional-ethical content are as follows:
- IHAMER will organize advanced specialized courses, seminars, workshops, congresses and symposia in the context of its practice and research.
- IHAMER will bring together the scientific and technical findings obtained as a result of various practical and research activities on human rights and equality and will publish these findings in scientific journals, books, bulletins and other media similar to these scientific publications.
- IHAMER will direct associate, undergraduate and graduate students to various trainings, projects and seminars on human rights and equality.
- IHAMER will develop cooperation with research and educational institutions and international organizations in the field of human rights and equality outside Turkey.
