Collections consisting of plants that are collected in a scientific way, dried, fixed on cardboard and stored without losing their important properties are called "Herbarium".
In addition to the benefits it will provide to science, culture and economy, a herbarium created in the light of this information is a basic source as a consultation documentation center for those who will work in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Genetics, Genetics, Landscape, Agriculture Nature and Medical plants and many other subjects, a plant laboratory and a plant museum where plant gene resources are provided and used as course material in the courses given.
Üsküdar University Herbarium, which contains nearly 800 medicinal and natural plant species collected by Prof. Dr. Memduh Serin as a result of fluorostic studies, was established in 2018. Our university herbarium serves our students from the Department of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Pharmacy Services and Medical Recognition and Marketing from SHMYO programs, and Nutrition and Dietetics and Occupational Therapy from the Faculty of Health Sciences.
