Master's Program in Cyber Security (English) About the Master's Program

Information Security of the Information Age is Provided by Cybersecurity Experts

What is the Cyber Security Master's Program?

In the information age we live in, we use communication systems, computer systems, and networks very intensively. Almost all kinds of services and activities, including warfare, take place in cyberspace. Since massive amounts of vital data belonging to finance, health, defense, and the business world—most notably our own personal and private data—are stored and kept in the digital universe, protecting this data from malicious operations and attacks is of great importance for the security of individuals, companies, institutions, organizations, and states. Cyber security experts constitute the latest and most effective defense line to protect computer networks and electronic infrastructures against such attacks.

Cyber security is a subject that intertwines numerous fields such as managerial, psychological, sociological, historical, legal, political, military, and academic. Since cyber security has become an important requirement for both institutions, commercial companies, and states, Turkey has determined the principles, strategic targets, and basic applications and concrete steps to be taken to achieve these targets on a national scale with the National Cyber Security Strategy Document. The aim of the Üsküdar University Institute of Science and Technology Cyber Security Department Thesis and Non-Thesis Master's Programs is to train future cyber security experts needed in the public and private sectors by equipping them with the skills necessary to carry out their professions, as well as the necessary basic and applied knowledge; and to conduct pioneering scientific studies in the field of cyber security by applying our mental processes—including the ability to think, reason, learn, and behave using cognitive science, psychology, philosophy, neuroscience, and artificial intelligence—to the field of cyber security.
