The aim of GETIPMER is to conduct scientific studies and applications in which medical methods that have been practiced for thousands of years are tested with up-to-date scientific methods and based on a solid foundation, to provide training, and to create a framework on the subject both in Turkey and abroad.
Complementary and traditional medicine is making significant progress all over the world. Everything from the food we eat, to the thoughts that pass through our minds, to the way the magnetic fields in our bodies affect our health is in the field of complementary medicine. Perhaps more than complementary, it is medicine itself. Medicine is influenced by a wide range of fields. Every event, every change in our environment can directly affect our health. Many information that we knew to be true until yesterday can now be considered wrong. Being a scientist requires approaching every information with skepticism and testing it with scientific methods.
GETIPMER has adopted the mission of testing and filtering the information under the academic structure with its active boards and organs, dynamic management scheme, finding the areas where Traditional Medicine intersects with current medicine and increasing the knowledge without giving up scientific methods. Within the framework of universal medical ethics, our primary goal is to deliver scientific articles to scientists interested in complementary medicine. Our secondary goal is to determine quality and standards, and our third goal is to increase the level of knowledge by providing certified and continuous trainings to interested trainees.
There is no alternative to medicine, only different methods can be offered as a support to current medicine and its effect can be strengthened. Based on scientific evidence, a method can be said to be effective or not. The basic principle in medicine is "primum non nocere" (first do no harm). GETIPMER will continue its existence within the framework of this principle, medical deontology and ethics, and will never compromise on scientificity. GETIPMER; its management, advisory board and organs, committees and management scheme were established from competent scientists based on this principle. I wish it to be beneficial for humanity and our country, and I present my regards.
