Psychology Program Learning Outcomes

P1. Explains, compares, and presents the historical development and body of knowledge of the science of psychology in written and oral form.

P2. Explains topics within the field of psychology using the discipline’s fundamental concepts and terminology, and provides examples.

P3. Analyzes and interprets behavioral and mental processes within the framework of the scientific method.

P4. Evaluates psychological phenomena from multiple perspectives by utilizing biological, cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, and sociocultural approaches, as well as fundamental concepts from social and human sciences such as sociology, anthropology, and philosophy.

P5. Designs research in accordance with the scientific method, collects data, analyzes it, interprets findings, discusses them, and reports the results.

P6. Effectively uses scientific databases and resources to access current psychological knowledge.

P7. Recognizes the knowledge and skill requirements in the field of psychology and sets learning objectives accordingly.

P8. Examines fundamental knowledge related to scientific psychological assessment from a critical perspective and makes evidence-based inferences.

P9. Identifies the basic assessment tools and core interview skills used in psychological assessment processes and explains the ethical principles and limitations of their use.

P10. Plans and maintains academic and professional development activities in line with lifelong learning.

P11. Recognizes the various application areas of psychology—including clinical, developmental, social, industrial-organizational, forensic, and similar fields—and contributes to social responsibility projects in accordance with ethical principles.

P12. Adheres to the ethical principles and responsibilities required by the psychology profession and reflects them in professional conduct.
