It has been observed again during the pandemic that the family is the foundation of society. However, the role of the family goes much further than this.
As the smallest but most effective building block of society, the family plays a fundamental role in the psychosocial development of the individual, culture-value transmission, educational processes and social cohesion. In short, the family is the foundation of social development.
In this respect, the Family-Based Social Contribution Working Group conducts research aimed at strengthening the family structure, consolidating intergenerational relations, supporting communication skills within families and increasing social solidarity.
The working group, with a social contribution perspective;
- Psychosocial support models to increase family functionality,
- Social innovation projects to empower disadvantaged families,
- Intervention models to increase family resilience in crisis situations such as divorce, migration, disaster and poverty,
- Guidance and training programs to improve parenting skills,
- Family-based preventive mental health services,
- It conducts applied, interdisciplinary and solution-oriented research on issues such as digital literacy and media use in the family.
The research focus of the group is to contribute to the development of sustainable family policies both locally and globally, and to increase family well-being through community-based preventive/preventive approaches.
