According to World Health Organization data, the rapid aging of the world population and the increase in chronic diseases are increasing the number of people with disabilities day by day. Accordingly, more than one billion of the world's population of more than 7 billion people have various disabilities. The number of children with disabilities exceeds 100 million and 80% of people with disabilities live in developing countries.
The UN defines people with disabilities as "persons with disabilities who are unable to perform tasks in their personal or social life that they should be able to do for themselves because of any inherited or acquired impairment in their physical or mental abilities.
those who are unable to do something as a result of a deficiency".
According to World Health Organization data, people with disabilities are among the "most marginalized groups in the world". In order to get rid of this stereotypical thinking, it was decided that some work should be done and it was decided to establish ENMER as our University, along with many positive developments on this issue.
In this context, ENMER (Barrier-Free Life Support Application and Research Center), which was established within Üsküdar University, was established and started its activities in order to ensure equal participation in education, training, social life and cultural areas for disabled students and working individuals and to develop planning and strategy on the subject.
ENMER, a group where all disabilities are perceived as differences that enrich society, will continue its work by increasing its numbers...
Yours sincerely,
