OBJECTIVES:
a. In addition to teaching Turkish, ÜSTÖMER aims to create an effective ground for research, practice and publication activities to be carried out by experts in the field.
b. The main goal of the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center is to be a "learning center" aiming to learn Turkish in Turkey with effective and efficient methods. ÜSTÖMER offers a modern learning environment to foreign students who come to Turkey from Turkey or abroad with the feature of being a "learning institution" that continuously improves itself in this field.
c. The difference of the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center is that it has a structure that focuses on production, research and practice.
d. To research all old and new branches of the Turkish language spoken and written in history and today, to develop and apply language learning and teaching methods and techniques,
e. To research the linguistic, historical and literary works of Turkish communities in different geographies and the linguistic relations of Turkish culture with neighboring cultures and to carry out all kinds of activities in this field.
AREAS OF ACTIVITY:
- To conduct research on the historical periods and contemporary branches of the Turkish language and to produce projects,
- To cooperate and collaborate with similar centers in countries where the Turkish language is still spoken,
- To develop and apply linguistic scientific methods and techniques related to the teaching of Turkish language,
- To discuss the issue of a common language of communication with the scientists of the countries speaking one of the branches of the Turkic language,
- To organize programs for learning all branches of the Turkish language,
- To conduct service courses in Turkish language when necessary,
- To eliminate the problems encountered in the written and oral use of the Turkish language; to organize courses and seminars to ensure more accurate and effective use,
- To organize national and international scientific meetings on the place and importance of the Turkish language among the world languages, its current and future problems and to bring suggestions to these problems,
- Based on the fact that language is one of the most important cultural carriers, to ensure the evaluation of the introduction of Turkish culture in the teaching of Turkish language,
- To cooperate with media outlets to promote the correct and effective use of the Turkish language,
- To conduct placement exams for those who want to learn Turkish as a second language, to organize teaching programs for students according to the results of these exams and to issue certificates,
- To organize programs for people who learn Turkish as a second language to acquire this language in its natural environment; to provide preparatory education for the Turkish preparatory classes of Turkology (Turkish Language and Literature) Departments in countries outside Turkey,
Upon request, to organize courses and seminars for the personnel of public or private institutions and organizations to complement their correspondence and speech deficiencies and to certify them with certificates.
