Fourth year students Ekin Yaşar and Özgenur Bülbül from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of Üsküdar University achieved a significant success at the “Istanbul Bridge Camp Ideathon.” With their project titled “VitisIno,” the students completed the competition in second place and qualified to participate in the acceleration program conducted within the scope of Generation Unlimited.

Üsküdar students win second place at the Istanbul bridge camp

The Istanbul Bridge Camp Ideathon, held on February 13, 14, and 15, was organized within the framework of the Equalize the Future Project carried out in partnership with UNICEF Türkiye, in collaboration with MEF University, Paribu Hub, and StartupMEF.
The event was hosted by the MEF Technology Development Center.
Innovative projects focused on social impact were developed
During the three-day ideathon, participating teams developed socially impactful projects in the areas of health and wellbeing, climate action, innovative education, artificial intelligence with diversity, equality, and inclusivity.
Students had the opportunity to refine their ideas and transform them into viable business models through mentorship and training support.
Second place with the “VitisIno” project
The “VitisIno” project, developed by fourth year Molecular Biology and Genetics students Ekin Yaşar and Özgenur Bülbül from Üsküdar University’s Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, ranked among the top three projects following jury evaluation.
The project attracted attention with its innovative approach and potential for social impact, finishing the competition in second place and earning selection for the Generation Unlimited acceleration program.
Strong support for young entrepreneurs
At the end of the Istanbul Bridge Camp Ideathon, the first place team received a gift voucher supported by Paribu, while the top three projects will continue to receive support through the acceleration program.
Throughout the program, trainers, mentors, and jury members guided young entrepreneurs by sharing their knowledge and experience.
This achievement by Üsküdar University students once again demonstrated the university’s innovative, entrepreneurial, and socially impact oriented educational approach.
