A "Pre-graduation Education Workshop" was held by the Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine. During the workshop, the faculty's accreditation process, quality studies, and strategic goals were evaluated. In the meeting, where views were also exchanged on steps to strengthen compliance with national and international standards, a common vision was put forth regarding the sustainability of the quality culture throughout the faculty.

Uskudar University Founding Rector Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, as well as faculty academics and students, attended the meeting held at the Ibn Sina Auditorium of the Uskudar University NP Health Campus.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan: "Accreditation is not a label but an understanding"

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, emphasizing that accreditation is not just a document but a culture, stated: "Accreditation is not a label but an understanding. Establishing this culture within the faculty requires determination and continuity. Although challenging in the short term, it provides great benefits in the long term. Internalizing accreditation systematizes every task we do and increases quality."

Awareness Must Be Kept Alive Continuously…

Prof. Dr. Tarhan emphasized that accreditation should be adopted by all stakeholders of the institution and stated that leadership plays a decisive role in this process. Tarhan added: "For accreditation to be sustainable, administrators and academic staff must continuously keep this awareness alive. Asking 'Is it compliant with accreditation?' in every application makes the quality approach an automatic reflex. Thus, the process manifests itself not only in documents but also in the institution's daily operations and decision-making mechanisms."

Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur: "We will continue this process with determination"

Prof. Dr. Haydar Sur, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stating that the accreditation process is a turning point for the faculty, said: "Accreditation efforts are a laborious and detailed process, but it is a necessary step to reach a point where we will say 'we're glad we did it.' We will continue this process with determination to bring the quality of our faculty to international standards. The dedication we all put forth will form the foundation of future success."
