Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry is preparing to admit its first students in the 2021-2022 academic year. Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, noted that with its state-of-the-art laboratories, clinics, classrooms, and social areas located on the NP Dental and Health Campus, established on an area of 35 thousand square meters, they will educate knowledgeable, well-equipped, value-producing dentists of the future. Günay stated that they have renewed and enriched the definition of Dentist and Dentistry from past to present according to the dynamics of the future, and in light of this renewed vision, they offer an original education program to students.
Value-producing physicians will be trained with an original education program…
Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay, Dean of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry, stated that the faculty, established in the 2020-2021 academic year, will accept its first students in the 2021-2022 academic year. The faculty has a quota of 40 students.

Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay noted that Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry is located on the NP Dental and Health Campus, established on an area of 35 thousand square meters, and said, “Our faculty awaits knowledgeable and well-equipped prospective dentists of the future with its state-of-the-art laboratories, clinics, classrooms, social areas, and much more.”
Basic medical sciences education will be provided at the Faculty of Medicine
Emphasizing the importance of the Faculty of Dentistry being on the same campus as the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay stated that they will provide education in two departments: Clinical Disciplines and Basic Education Disciplines. Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay said the following:
“At Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry, our students will receive their basic medical sciences education at our Faculty of Medicine. Our Faculty of Medicine, located 200 meters away from our faculty, can be reached in a three-minute walk. Students will be able to utilize multidisciplinary 1 and 2 laboratories, medical education skills laboratory, anatomy laboratory, and simulated patient laboratory, as well as amphitheaters and smart classrooms, conference hall, library, and cafeteria located within the Faculty of Medicine. Furthermore, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry students, who will also benefit from the gardens and social areas nestled in greenery, will walk towards a bright future with confident steps thanks to all these opportunities.”
Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay stated that Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Dentistry, which stands out with its modern infrastructure features and strong academic staff, is rapidly continuing its preparations to bring its first students together with high-quality higher education.
Closed-circuit video and audio system available
Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay noted that the faculty has a phantom laboratory with 30 student training desks and one instructor desk. He added, “On the same floor, there is also a plaster and acrylic laboratory, and a preclinical laboratory with 60 student training desks and one instructor desk. With the closed-circuit video and audio system integrated into the laboratories, activities at the instructor's desk can be simultaneously transmitted to the monitors at the student training desks.”
Education will be provided in various clinics and laboratories
Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay stated that their faculty has 70 specially designed dental units for students and faculty members in the Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Radiology Clinic, Periodontology Clinic, Restorative Clinic, Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic, Endodontics Clinic, Prosthetic Dentistry Clinic, and Integrated Treatment Clinic. Günay added that they also included dental units that can be used by disabled patients.
Prof. Dr. Günay also stated that the Faculty of Dentistry includes a preclinical laboratory with 60 student training desks, a plaster-acrylic laboratory, a fully equipped operating room, sterilization, and radiology units.
Günay: “We aim to train a value-producing dentist”
Prof. Dr. Günay said, “Another pillar of our program will offer IT and robotics education designed to prepare you for the dentistry of the future. Üsküdar Üniversitesi’s accumulated knowledge and strong staff will be an important resource in implementing our program. In essence, as the Üsküdar Üniversitesi family, our aim is to prepare you for the future as a dentist who produces value in the name of human values, happiness, and science.”
It will also have social and cultural areas
Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay stated that the Faculty of Dentistry includes anatomy, medical skills, and multidisciplinary I and II laboratories for basic medical sciences, as well as classrooms and amphitheaters equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay said, “For the social and cultural development of students, there is a conference hall with a capacity of 600 people, cafes, restaurants, sports halls, two separate richly stocked libraries, and reading areas.”

Prof. Dr. Yumuşhan Günay, stating that they aim to train successful and well-equipped dentists of the future, expressed that they have renewed and enriched the definition of Dentist and Dentistry from past to present according to the dynamics of the future, adding, “In light of this renewed vision, we offer an original education program to our students.”
