Üsküdar University attended the “Zero Waste Foundation and Inter-University Cooperation Meeting” hosted by the Zero Waste Foundation. Within the scope of the meeting, Üsküdar University met with universities in Istanbul to evaluate cooperation opportunities in the field of sustainability and zero waste. Topics aimed at strengthening inter-university cooperation, disseminating sustainability efforts, and developing campus practices within the scope of Zero Waste Week preparations were also discussed at the meeting.

Top-level executives from Istanbul universities attended the meeting held at the Zero Waste Foundation.
Representing Üsküdar University, Advisor to the Rector Prof. İsmail Barış, Clinical Psychologist Edibe Serra Erol, Project Specialist Ayşe Banu Güngenci, and Project Specialist Ayşegül Şekli took part in the meeting.
Zero waste Week preparations addressed
During the meeting, topics were discussed concerning the strengthening of inter-university cooperation, the dissemination of sustainability efforts, and the development of campus practices within the scope of Zero Waste Week preparations, which will take place between June 1-7, 2026. Furthermore, views were exchanged regarding the integration of sustainability topics into academic processes and increasing student participation.
Üsküdar University shared its sustainability efforts
Attending the meeting on behalf of Üsküdar University, Advisor to the Rector Prof. İsmail Barış provided information about the zero waste and waste prevention efforts carried out within the university. In this context, it was stated that waste separation practices are being widespread across the campus, awareness activities for recycling and environmental consciousness are being continued, and practices supporting the efficient use of resources are being implemented.

The meeting was regarded as an important step in terms of potential joint efforts that can be developed in the field of sustainability between universities and the Zero Waste Foundation.
