Neslihan Çapar: “Giving the job its due is a mission”

Neslihan Çapar, Deputy Provincial Director of Istanbul, Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services; “Social service is a job that requires sacrifice, time, and effort. I continue my profession with love and faith. I believe that giving the job its due is a mission. In the past, we used to hear our elderly say, ‘Why did I fall into such a state?’ Now we see that our elderly benefit from all kinds of opportunities and are satisfied with these care services, that we have changed socially, and our perspective has reached a different dimension. In nursing homes, we attach great importance to activities that will eliminate social deprivation, not detach individuals from their environment, and include them in life. And we continue to produce innovative policies in this field,” she said.

“Thousands of elderly people are abandoned to death worldwide”

Çapar continued her words; “Thousands of elderly people are abandoned to death worldwide. As the ministry and its employees, we are achieving great successes. This is a sensitive area. Furthermore, efforts to combat the virus in care centers and nursing homes continue diligently. We have charted a successful path in every field. We give more importance to elderly people in need, we work diligently and comprehensively, and they see and will continue to see the value and status they might not have received in their families, equally here,” she said.
