Among the research groups where pioneering and innovative studies in Health Sciences originated, the 'Therapeutic Brain Mapping and Neurotechnology Working Group (TBHN)' completed its 10th year with its 100th Meeting.

The 'Therapeutic Brain Mapping and Neurotechnology Working Group', which is the first of the working groups that host 44 working groups from different disciplines and enable researchers in its academic staff to conduct interdisciplinary work through data and information sharing, significantly contributed to 9 faculty members receiving the Associate Professor title with 71 research articles, 57 of which are within the scope of SCOPUS, during this period.

What does TBHN do?

Since 2012, the TBHN working group has been a platform where scientists from neighboring disciplines, primarily neurology, psychiatry, engineering, biology, and psychology, come together and transform their academic knowledge into scientific work. The working group includes studies that investigate the basic functions of the nervous system and changes occurring in disease states using brain imaging methods such as electroencephalogram, magnetic resonance imaging, and functional magnetic resonance imaging, exploring the unknowns of the brain in healthy and patient populations. Uncovering neural biomarkers in various neuropsychiatric diseases, and revealing brain maps in healthy and diseased individuals, can be counted among the group's most fundamental goals. Research studies that began with computational methods such as machine learning and feature selection continue today with artificial intelligence-supported deep learning-based models.

Extensive International Academic Collaborations are Conducted…

The academic activities of the TBHN working group have not been limited to researchers within Üsküdar Üniversitesi; it has been conducting long-standing academic collaborations with research centers and brain research communities such as The Society for Brain Mapping and Therapeutics (SBMT), American Psychiatric Association (APA), International Brain Research Consortium (IBRC), EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society (ECNS), and International Society For Neurofeedback & Research (ISNR).

Üsküdar Üniversitesi, which trains master's and doctoral level researchers in the field of neuroscience in our country, conducts its studies with the researchers in the TBHN working group in cognitive neuroscience, clinical neuroscience, neurobiofeedback, neurotechnology, bioinformatics laboratories, and Biyotekmer and Yazamer application and research centers.
