The first book of the project “Comprehensive Study of Sufism: Through Metaphysics, Literature, Music and Rituals,” jointly conducted by Üsküdar University Institute for Sufi Studies (TAE) and Kyoto University Asian and African Area Studies Institute, has been published by Kyoto University. The first book of the project, also supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, titled “Bridging Mystical Philosophy and Arts in Sufism: Poetry, Music and Samāʻ Ritual,” has been introduced to international literature. The project also stands out for making significant contributions to Sufi studies.

The work titled “Bridging Mystical Philosophy and Arts in Sufism: Poetry, Music and Samāʻ Ritual,” which contains the results of the project's first four years, has been introduced to international literature.
The work deeply examines the first part of multidisciplinary field research on Mevlevi Sufism, evaluating the philosophical, literary, musical, and ritualistic dimensions of Sufism together.

Among the editors of the book were Prof. Dr. Yasushi Tonaga from Kyoto University, Prof. Dr. Masayuki Akahori from Sofia University, Dr. Manami Suzuki from Kyoto University, and Dr. Cangüzel Güner Zülfikar, Prof. Dr. Emine Yeniterzi, and Prof. Dr. Reşat Öngören from Üsküdar University.
