The second 'Career Day' event was organized by the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Uskudar University. Şehnaz Berna Zerengök, Senior Manager of Education and Organizational Development at Anadolu Medical Center Hospital, and Özge Hayta, Senior Human Resources Specialist at Anadolu Medical Center Hospital, attended the event as guests. Within the scope of the event, a presentation titled “Transition from Student to Profession” and an “Interview Techniques” role-play activity were held.

The event, held at Uskudar University NP Health Campus Galenos conference hall, attracted significant interest from nursing students.

Şehnaz Berna Zerengök: “Knowing the Profession is Very Important”
Şehnaz Berna Zerengök, Senior Manager of Education and Organizational Development at Anadolu Medical Center Hospital, emphasized that knowing the profession is crucial during the transition process; “The critical situation is being able to navigate the transition from student life to professional life as correctly as possible. In this terminology, there is no single right way. What's important is that if a person knows and understands themselves, and conducts research on professional life outside, if they can see what they expect and what they can find, and keep it in balance, the transition process becomes a bit easier. Knowing your profession is very important. The most important opportunity to meet expectations is to be aware of the answers you give to the questions, ‘What do I want, what kind of person am I?’ she stated.

Interview Techniques Role-Play Activity Held
Following Şehnaz Berna Zerengök's speech, Özge Hayta, Senior Human Resources Specialist at Anadolu Medical Center Hospital, conducted an “Interview Techniques” role-play activity with nursing student Ali Furkan.
After the activity, Hayta explained recruitment processes, nursing positions, and working conditions.

Özge Hayta: “Whether they have professional perception is the characteristic I pay most attention to”
Hayta underlined the importance of having professional perception and the ability of a nurse to empathize during an interview; “During the interview, whether they have a professional perception is the characteristic I pay most attention to. It is very important for the person to have goals. My reason for asking nurses during interviews what patients and their relatives represent is because they need to act with empathy towards patients who come for treatment and their relatives,” she stated.
The event concluded with a Q&A session followed by a group photo.
