Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy Prof. Dr. Ahmet Konrot, participated as a speaker in the program organized by Fatih Guidance Research Center for special education teachers. Konrot delivered a presentation titled “Speech and Language Disorders in Educational Environments” to special education teachers.
“Communication and Language are Differential Diagnoses in Speech”
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Konrot, after explaining what speech and language therapy is and what it deals with, also touched upon communication and communication problems. Konrot spoke about verbal language, non-verbal language, and speech disorders frequently observed and likely to be observed in segregated educational environments, stating; “Communication and language are differential diagnoses in speech.”
Speech and Language Disorder Education Requires Management and Expertise!
Prof. Dr. Konrot, who discussed communication-language-speech disorders frequently observed in educational environments in the context of integration, emphasized that all these areas require management and expertise within the scope of speech and language disorders. Konrot stated; “The management of speech-language disorders is a multifaceted and multi-stakeholder process where everyone fulfills their part.”
