Prof. Dr. Hasip Pektaş Met with TED Istanbul College Students

Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Head of the Department of Cartoon and Animation Prof. Dr. Hasip Pektaş participated in the interview organized by TED Istanbul College on Instagram live broadcast. Pektaş provided important information to the participants regarding the topic of “The Title Deed of the Book: Ex-libris”.

“Collecting this art is not widespread in our country”

In the program followed by 65 people, Pektaş provided information about the status of ex-libris in Turkey and art education. Pektaş stated that ex-libris was introduced in Turkey through books acquired from the West, saying, “There is a seal in the Ottoman tradition. The seal is not ex-libris, but it is a mark of ownership. Ex-libris education has been provided in art schools since the 2000s. Collecting this art is not widespread in our country.”
