Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, faculty member of the Department of Sociology at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, attended the International Scientific and Applied Conference titled "Psychology in Central Asia: Development Paths and Perspectives" held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Süleymanlı delivered a comprehensive presentation titled "Methodological and Theoretical Aspects of Intercultural Research in Turkic States". Süleymanlı pointed out the great importance of intercultural research. Stating that intercultural research is a bridge connecting the past and the future, Süleymanlı emphasized that these studies are the key to the common future of the Turkic world.

The event held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University was attended by psychologists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Turkey, and other countries; members of parliament, representatives of public institutions, media members, and deputies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Intercultural research is of great importance"
Prof. Dr. Ebulfez Süleymanlı, faculty member of the Department of Sociology at Üsküdar University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, delivered a comprehensive presentation titled "Methodological and Theoretical Aspects of Intercultural Research in Turkic States". In his speech, Süleymanlı stated that today's world is shaped by processes of globalization, intercultural interaction, and cultural interdependence, emphasizing in this context the great importance of intercultural research for analyzing societies' identity formations, value systems, and behavior patterns. Süleymanlı stated, “Intercultural research is the key to a common future in the Turkic world.”

Süleymanlı, stating that these studies gain even more significance particularly in the context of the Turkic world, said, “When our common historical and cultural origins combine with different political systems and educational models, intercultural research becomes a strategic academic field in the Turkic world. Cultural diversity meets common roots...”
Süleymanlı drew attention to cultural bias and methodological challenges
Süleymanlı also drew attention to the fundamental problems encountered in intercultural research.
Language barriers, cultural biases, sampling problems, conceptual differences, and ethical violations are among the most significant challenges in this field. He emphasized that to overcome such methodological problems, research tools must be adapted with cultural sensitivity, local experts must be involved in the process, and international ethical standards must be observed.

Süleymanlı stated that intercultural research is not only an academic activity but also of strategic importance for building trust between peoples and laying the foundations for a common future in education and science. Süleymanlı said, “In the Turkic world, intercultural research is a bridge connecting the past and the future. We must preserve our common heritage, draw strength from our differences, and build a common future on a scientific basis.”
The main objectives of the conference included;
- Sharing scientific knowledge and practical experiences in the field of psychology,
- Discussing current issues concerning psychology science and education in Central Asian countries,
- Strengthening academic and professional collaborations,
- And providing a rich environment for comprehensive and in-depth discussions on the development and future of psychological services.
