Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Occupational Therapy Department students and the Positive Adaptation in Occupational Therapy Club jointly organized the “Positive Adaptation to 2021 Activity with Occupational Therapy”. The event was presented by Occupational Therapy students Berkay Karpuz and Şevval Ateş. Pleasant moments were experienced during the event held via Zoom.
Positive adaptation in occupational therapy was discussed at the event organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sevda Asqarova, Head of the Occupational Therapy Department. The opening speech of the event was delivered by Berkay Karpuz, a 4th-year student of the Occupational Therapy Department and department representative. Following this, Şevval Ateş, president of the Positive Adaptation in Occupational Therapy Club, also gave her speech.

Also at the event, Ülkü Nur Erdem, a 2nd-year student, Ayşe Metin, a 3rd-year student, and Eda Gülsüm, a 4th-year student of the Occupational Therapy Department, delivered their speeches, wishing happiness, health, positivity, and success in the new year to the students of the Occupational Therapy Department.
Occupational Therapy graduates, Specialist Psychologist and Occupational Therapist Burak Çebi and Occupational Therapist İsa Kör, offered some advice to students for the new year. Following the opening speeches, the song “Senden Daha Güzel Şarkısı” (A Song More Beautiful Than You) was performed by 1st-year students of the Occupational Therapy Department. Immediately after, 1st-year students expressed their new year wishes.
The Positive Adaptation in Occupational Therapy Club, consisting of 2nd-year students, showed videos titled “Song Guessing Competition with Emojis”, “Questions About Occupational Therapy” competition, “New Year's Wish with Sign Language”, “Neler Oluyor Hayatta Şarkısı” (What's Happening in Life Song), and “How Our New Year Activities Changed in 1 Year?”.
The song performance with cups and videos containing positive wishes prepared by 3rd-year students were also presented. 4th-year Occupational Therapy students also performed a “New Year Dance”. Entertaining videos prepared by postgraduate students and graduates were watched. And the good wishes of the graduates were presented to the occupational therapy students.
Occupational Therapist İsa Kör performed a song he prepared for the students. The video “New Year's Change in One Year” received great appreciation. Students had pleasant moments during the event, which included a prize-winning quiz and a song guessing competition with emojis.
Berkay Karpuz, a 4th-year student and department representative, who served as a moderator during this challenging period for the Occupational Therapy Department, was awarded the 'best moderator of the year'.
At the end of the event, department representative Berkay Karpuz and Positive Adaptation in Occupational Therapy Club president Şevval Ateş presented flowers to Prof. Dr. Sevda Asqarova on behalf of the occupational therapy students with new year wishes, creating emotional moments for the students. At the end of the program, Prof. Dr. Sevda Asqarova, Head of the Occupational Therapy Department, said in her speech;
“Each one of you is a pearl to me”
“I thank everyone who conveyed new year wishes. It was a very beautiful program. There are some who are at work now and couldn't watch the program. They will definitely watch it and smile just like you. We also extend our new year wishes to them. I kiss your eyes. Each one of you is a pearl to me. I'm glad you exist. I'm glad you are my students, I'm glad we are at Üsküdar Üniversitesi, I'm glad our teacher Nevzat is with us. We will continue to organize such events always in unity and togetherness.” She congratulated her students on their new year with these words.
