Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Political Science and International Relations Department hosted Habertürk Newspaper Columnist Serdar Turgut as a guest on the program “What’s Happening in America?”. Turgut, commenting on the recent events in America, said; “Terror is gnawing away at America from within.”

“Terror is gnawing away at America from within”
Prof. Dr. Havva Kök Arslan, a faculty member of the Political Science and International Relations Department, moderated the online program. The program attracted significant interest from participants.
Journalist Serdar Turgut, addressing the terror incidents within America, said; “I will draw attention to a very dangerous point. The people who support Trump are also among them. Their origin was a bombing in Oklahoma in 1995. Approximately 160 people died in a single bombing. The reason was that the FBI surrounded a religious group called VAKO, and they engaged in armed conflict. Later, when Oklahoma was bombed, some federal areas were also bombed. The reason I am telling you this is that terror has started in America, and this terror is gnawing away at America from within. This is a very frightening issue for the FBI today. As you know, they have now turned to domestic terrorism. You may recall that tensions started on election night, and during those FBI wiretaps, an assassination attempt was detected. That's why there have been huge tensions. The interior of the American Congress has turned into a military barracks. If there is a very big threat, it will lead to civil war. Biden will do his best to alleviate this. At the same time, Biden has some characteristics. His toughness is also evident. The times when Obama and Biden were in charge of America were when the most people were killed abroad. One of Biden's advantages is that his predecessor was Trump. Trump has damaged relations with the world so much today that now the whole world has seen that things cannot continue this way. Terror is gnawing away at America from within.”
“America learned the concept of the deep state from Turkey”
Habertürk Newspaper writer Serdar Turgut spoke about the deep state and America's new era relations. Turgut said; “I do not agree with the globalists. Some groups in America use this as a conspiracy theory. There was no concept of a deep state in America. America learned the concept of the deep state from Turkey. Globalists are not those who do such dark deeds; it is the American state. As a superpower, America will try to pursue its interests in the world by using force and diplomacy. It will identify its adversaries. If we look at the national security personnel appointed in America right now, we can read what America will do with China, Iran, and Turkey. What is said for China is this: During the Trump era, American foreign affairs viewed China as a strategic rival and said, let's talk with China. Now John Kerry has been appointed as the climate change envoy. He will be under the White House and the National Security Council. There is a section in America where the most important decisions are made. They say John Kerry's presence in that position within the White House shows where relations with China will go. It is not possible for America to take steps on climate change without China. Discussions will be initiated there, good relations will be fostered, and competition will be maintained on other issues. They will redo the nuclear deal with Iran.” He used the expressions.
“Biden’s mission is to create a single America”
Serdar Turgut discussed the divisions within America and evaluated the path Biden would follow.
Turgut: “If you look at America from New York or Los Angeles, you see a different America. If you look from Alabama, you see a different one. Panic is being experienced in liberal-leaning cities. It was thought that if things continued this way, the events would occur throughout America. In the southern cities of America, they worshipped Trump. And now there is a surprisingly divided America. Biden's mission is to create a single America because there are opportunities to do so. It is highly probable that Trump, who has suffered defeat twice, will not be given the right to run for election again if things continue this way. Also, Biden said that if lawsuits are filed against him and Trump, he would not grant a pardon like former presidents did. Biden said there is an unfinished case. There is no possibility of Trump being jailed here, but he could be imprisoned in cases opened in general courts. The Manhattan District Attorney's office is one that deals with major corruption. There are ongoing lawsuit preparations against Trump for corruption and tax evasion; if Trump is imprisoned, Biden will not grant a pardon.” He spoke.
