Japan's Defense Attaché Ryo Kumai visited Prof. Dr. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan, Dean of the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the visit, which took place at Prof. Dr. Arıboğan's office, an exchange of information regarding the agendas of Japan and Turkey was conducted.
“The Far East never feels distant to me”
Prof. Dr. Arıboğan summarized the visit as follows: “We had a pleasant conversation with Ryo Kumai. Thanks to him, I also reminisced about my days in Japan. Since my approach in the field of defense and security is 'there is no line of defense; there is a surface of defense. That surface is the whole world,' the Far East never feels distant to me. We must learn that region well. Listening from their perspective was very enlightening.”
