Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute of Social Sciences Clinical Psychology Master's Program with thesis also met with intense interest this year. On Friday, September 18, 327 candidates worked hard to succeed in the scientific exam held at the Çarşı campus with measures appropriate for pandemic conditions. The exam results for the program, which admitted 15 candidates, were announced on the university's website on Friday, September 25.
The entrance exam for the Clinical Psychology Master's Program with thesis, within the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute of Social Sciences, was held on Friday, September 18. 327 candidates wishing to pursue a master's program at Üsküdar Üniversitesi in the 2020-2021 academic year strived for success in the scientific exam held at the Çarşı campus. Candidates were admitted to the exam in classrooms, with a maximum of 15 people, adhering to mask and social distancing rules. The eagerly awaited results of the scientific exam were announced on Friday, September 25.
Books being prepared in the field of Psychology
The intense interest in the Clinical Psychology Master's Program within the Üsküdar Üniversitesi Institute of Social Sciences is seen as a result of the successful projects and studies conducted, with students also being included. Clinical Psychology Master's students, together with faculty members, prepared 18 books or book chapters in the 2019-2020 academic year. While the publication of 8 of these has been completed, the publishing process for 10 books is ongoing.
Clinical experience and employment opportunities offered
Üsküdar Üniversitesi offers students who successfully complete the program the opportunity for practical training and clinical experience alongside theoretical education, in collaboration with NPİSTANBUL Beyin Hastanesi, Feneryolu Medical Center, and Üsküdar Üniversitesi Psychological Counseling Unit. Furthermore, students graduating from the programs have the chance of employment in the same units.
Students take an active role
Head of Clinical Psychology Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökben Hızlı Sayar, shared her views on the program as follows:
“In our Clinical Psychology Master's program, students want to be involved not only in education but also in research, social responsibility projects, conferences, and book studies. We provide ample opportunities for this. We organized 5 symposiums and conferences where our clinical psychology students actively participated and served on the organizing committee. This year, our psychology graduate students were authors in 20 international – national scientific articles. They presented 13 oral presentations or posters at international conferences and symposiums, and 29 at national conferences and symposiums, and received 3 awards for their successful work. I congratulate the new students who have been admitted. We will quickly begin new studies with them as well.”
