At the International Culture and Arts Documentary Film Festival 2021, held on February 20-21, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication lecturer, Documentary Filmmaker-Writer Hasan Özgen, was presented with the “Master of Documentary Honorary Award”.
At the International Culture and Arts Documentary Film Festival held on February 20-21, 2021, the festival committee deemed our lecturer, Documentary Filmmaker-Writer Hasan Özgen, worthy of the “Master of Documentary Honorary Award” “due to his contributions to the formation of an original documentary cinema language in Turkey, the establishment of Anatolian culture and art in memories through documentary cinema, and his mediation between the past and the future with his films.”
Hasan Özgen graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1968. Between 1974 and 1982, he worked at TRT News Center. In 1983, he participated in the establishment of MTV A.Ş. with Suha ARIN. In 1987, he founded his own agency. He is currently a founding partner and manager of Nöbetçi Ajans Filmtel Reklamcılık Film Yapım Yönetim company. His TV-cinema experience, which began with TRT, primarily developed through his participation in the production of documentary films. He worked as a cameraman, director of photography, screenwriter, and director. The films he worked on received awards in many national and international competitions. Between February 2011 and 2013, he served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of BSB Cinema Works Professional Association. In 2013, he was awarded the TRT Honorary Award.
