Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Midwifery and the First Touch to Miracle Club held the symposium 'The Impact of Climate Change on Health.' The symposium, conducted via Zoom, addressed the problem of global warming and climate change in all its aspects.

Prof. Dr. Cimete: “Climate change affects the health and lives of all living beings”
Prof. Dr. Güler Cimete, Head of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Midwifery, expressed her thoughts on the symposium and made the following assessments regarding climate change: “Climate change has very significant impacts and harms on all living beings. Therefore, this area would be one where we could only raise awareness among people even if we discussed it every day. Climate change affects the health and lives of all living beings. We need to be aware and sensitive. Everyone needs to reach this consciousness, this awareness, and take some measures as much as possible, both in their daily lives and in a way that can create more political power.” she said.
“We are the last generation to steer global warming”
Nisa Sula, the symposium chair, who delivered the opening speech, said: “We all know that climate change, which has become a global problem today, negatively affects living things. At the same time, the balance of the ecological system is disturbed during this process. The impact of climate change is, of course, not only due to temperature-related increases. As a result of factors such as drought, the frequency of extreme weather events like severe hurricanes, the increase in these causes, as well as rising ocean and sea levels, and melting glaciers, plant and animal ecosystems, as well as human communities, are also seriously at risk. It is up to us to leave a world for future generations. We are the last generation that will steer this course. If we don't act today, it might be too late for everything.” she stated.
In the continuation of the symposium, sessions titled “Global Warming and Its Effects on Living Beings,” “The Effects of Global Warming on Human Health,” and “Measures Against Global Warming” were held.
