Üsküdar University is hosting the '6th Basic Clinical and Multimodal Imaging (BaCI) Congress' at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus between September 03-07, 2023. 60 international researchers from 12 different countries will discuss the latest developments in neuroscience, genetics, and medicine. Within the program, an honorary doctorate will also be presented to Prof. Monte Buchsbaum, considered a pioneer in neuroimaging technologies.

Preparations are underway for the 6th Basic Clinical and Multimodal Imaging (BaCI) Congress, to be held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus between September 03-07. The congress brings together leading clinicians, researchers, and scientists who use neuroelectrophysiological techniques to understand human psychology.
Üsküdar University will host the 6th BaCI (Basic Clinical and Multimodal Imaging) Congress, featuring 60 international researchers from 12 different countries presenting current research in neuroscience and genetics for the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
The congress, co-chaired by Üsküdar University Founding Rector, Psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, and held in-person after a 3-year hiatus, is attracting significant interest from international researchers as well as young researchers in our country.
The Congress, which has also been deemed worthy of support under the TÜBİTAK Multi-Participant International Event Support Program 2223-C, brings together the most prestigious associations in the field. Held every two years, the congress will be the 18th meeting organized by ECNS, ISNIP, ISBET, ISFSI, and the Üsküdar University Therapeutic Brain Mapping, Biological Psychiatry and Neurotechnology Association.
An honorary doctorate to be presented to the pioneer of neuroimaging technologies…
Just before the congress program, an honorary doctorate will be presented to Prof. Monte Buchsbaum, considered a pioneer in neuroimaging technologies. Prof. Monte Buchsbaum will present his views on “Progress in Electrophysiology in Our Century: Science, Biomedical Technology, and Globalization” in his opening speech.
At the event, the latest developments in neuroscience, genetics, and medicine will be discussed.
Among the speakers on the first day of the congress, Prof. Dr. Derek Fisher will present on schizophrenia, Dr. Maheen Adamson on gender differences in brain injury, and Prof. Dr. Pinhans Dannon on new treatments in addiction.
Prof. Dr. Martin Arns will address the depression-heart relationship, and Prof. Dr. Oliver Pogarell will discuss neurofeedback in psychiatry. Prof. Dr. Mahmood Hassan will establish the EEG-machine learning connection.
Many awards will find their recipients…
In the congress, where young neuroscience researchers will also participate with oral and poster presentations, awards for best poster, young researcher award, presidential service award, Roy John award, and Turan İtil awards will also be presented. BaCI supports young researchers at doctoral level, faculty members, and prominent researchers in our country and worldwide with widely impactful work, enabling them to follow current studies and participate in sessions discussing contemporary professional topics, thereby fostering the development of young researchers and the establishment of potential collaborations.
The Congress, whose theme for 2023 is determined as ‘The Meeting Point of Neuroelectrophysiology and Genetics,’ will bring together international experts and interested parties in the fields of neuroelectrophysiology and genetics. This event, which provides opportunities for dynamic discussions, knowledge sharing, and advanced idea exchange, aims to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical applications.
