The works that passed the preliminary evaluation and made it to the finals in the Future Communicators Competition, organized for the seventh time this year by the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), have been announced. Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication students also succeeded in inscribing their names in the finals with seven projects.
Students who participated in the TRT Future Communicators Competition with their projects carried out during the 2020-2021 academic year; competed in five main categories: ‘Radio Broadcasting’, ‘Television Broadcasting’, ‘News Broadcasting’, ‘Digital Broadcasting’, and ‘Beautiful Turkish’. Under the main category “Radio Broadcasting”, there were ‘radio program’, ‘radio drama’, and ‘radio documentary’; under the main category “Television Broadcasting”, there were ‘television program’, ‘documentary film’, and ‘short film’; under the main category “News Broadcasting”, there were ‘television news’, ‘television sports news’, and ‘internet news’; and under the main category “Digital Broadcasting”, there were a total of 14 sub-categories including ‘website’, ‘social media management’, ‘digital campaign’, ‘podcast’, and ‘digital video content format’.
Seven projects from Üsküdar Communication in the finals
According to the announced preliminary evaluation results , projects by Üsküdar University Faculty of Communication students Betül Tilmaç, Bilal Sadi, Feyza Kübra Ağırtmış, Halide Nur Karadeniz, Merve Şişman, Ümmü Gülsüm Dural, and Zeynep Şahin made it to the finals.

Three projects succeeded in reaching the finals in the Internet News branch
In the News Broadcasting Category, Internet News branch, New Media and Journalism Department student Betül Tilmaç, with her project titled “We Are Eighteenth in Organic Agricultural Production”, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan; New Media and Journalism Department student Ümmü Gülsüm Dural, with her project titled “Nomadic Girl Neslihan” , prepared under the supervision of Res. Asst. Selin Maden; New Media and Journalism Department student Feyza Kübra Ağırtmış, with her project titled “A Ten-Year Journey of Hope for Syrian Refugees, with Graphics”, prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Res. Asst. Atila Erdemir, and Res. Asst. Selin Maden, succeeded in reaching the finals.
Four projects became finalists in the Website Branch
In the Digital Broadcasting Category, Website Branch, New Media and Journalism Department student Bilal Sadi, with his project titled “Palto Kültür Sanat" , prepared under the supervision of Res. Asst. Selin Maden; New Media and Journalism Department student Halide Nur Karadeniz, with her project titled “Humanist Worldview” , prepared under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Yıldıray Kesgin; New Media and Journalism Department student Merve Şişman, with her project titled “The Face of Violence” , prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan, Res. Asst. Selin Maden, and Res. Asst. Atila Erdemir; Public Relations Department student Zeynep Şahin became a finalist with her project titled “Kadın Başına”, prepared under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Nihal Toros Ntapiapis.
Meanwhile, Yunus Aydın, a 2nd-year Industrial Engineering student from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, was also among the finalists in the Social Media Management branch of the Digital Broadcasting category with his work 'Alesman'.
Selection Committee evaluations continue
Following the evaluations to be conducted by the Selection Committee in August, the top three projects will be announced. The announcement of the results and the award ceremony will be declared at a later date.
