"Atölye Üsküdar" Webinar Seminars Continue

Üsküdar Üniversitesi's "Atölye Üsküdar" Webinar seminars, organized by the "Atölye Üsküdar Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center" which was established by Üsküdar Municipality with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Istanbul Development Agency for young entrepreneurs, continue. The guests of the second program were Murat Hekim, President and Head of the Scientific Board of the Human and Artificial Intelligence Association, and Vice President Emre Hekim.

The moderation of the program, held via Zoom, was undertaken by Dr. Nebiye Yaşar, Director of Üsküdar Üniversitesi Young Brains Academy.

"Technology is a blessing given to humankind"

Murat Hekim, expressing his opinions on artificial intelligence, said; "Technology is an adventure and a blessing given to humankind. And this blessing has been growing exponentially for years. When we look at today, software technologies are analytical studies produced by people to create more advanced technologies. Software technologies are the current variant of a journey that began to create a common denominator and a common database."

"What's important is to trigger humankind's ability to adapt"

Referring to human adaptation to technology from industrial activities to the present day, Murat Hekim said; "The early 1760s are considered the beginning of the industrial revolution with the use of steam engines. When we came to the 1800s, groups called 'machine breakers' emerged in England. Their aim was to dismantle machines, believing they were taking people's jobs in production facilities. And we saw that in the cycle of life, those machines could actually be used in terms of employment, production, and human service. The problem here was the inability of humans and technology to adapt to each other. It has a social, legal, and societal impact. In fact, we started such a study with the aim of triggering humankind's greatest strength, its ability to adapt."

"An Awareness NGO that set out saying 'İnsan-ı Kamil'"

Emre Hekim, providing information about the Human and Artificial Intelligence Association, said: "We are not in a position to restrict artificial intelligence to a narrow field. Currently, no one in the world is in this position. Because everyone is working in this field independently and asymmetrically. Of course, some source data is needed for these studies to be carried out. The main question is, who holds these resources? And who will manage these resources and how? From this perspective, what we are trying to do is technology for humans. That's why we called it the Human and Artificial Intelligence Association. We can say it's an awareness NGO that set out saying 'İnsan-ı Kamil'."
