Social media addiction has evolved into Instagram addiction, especially among young people. Since this situation also brought about the need for new measurement tools, new types of social media addiction scales began to be developed on an international scale. In our country, these tools are integrated into the field by conducting Turkish equivalence, validity, and reliability studies. In the 2nd edition of the book, Instagram story addiction and Instagram feed addiction scales, adapted into our language from these tools, along with a number of new scales, were included.” she said.

Prof. Dr. Aylin Tutgun Ünal, titled 'Effects of Social Media'. It is a valuable work to which much effort has been put. When we evaluate in terms of communication technologies in the last century, there are three periods that affect human behavior. The first is the Radio generation, the second is the Television Generation, and the last is the Social Media generation. There are significant differences in many areas, from friendships, personal development, eating and entertainment habits, obedience to authority, moral sense, individuality, family values, influence from popular culture, impulse control, conformity to social norms, sense of responsibility, consumerism to lifestyles. Scientific field studies in Social Psychology and Communication Science are very beneficial, even necessary, for predicting the future and producing alternative solutions to existing problems,” he said.
