Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication is preparing to host the International Communication Days for the 7th time. The theme for this year's International Communication Days Symposium, which will take place on October 21-22-23, 2020, has been determined as “Communication Education in the Digital Age Symposium.” In the symposium, which will be attended by renowned names in the field of communication, there will be invited speakers as well as paper presentations.

The 7th International Communication Days, organized this year by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, is being held with the theme “communication education in the digital age,” in accordance with the current pandemic conditions. Many academics, both national and international, will participate in the symposium with their papers, which will be held online as part of Covid-19 measures. Those who wish to attend the symposium, scheduled for October 21-22-23, 2020, as listeners can also participate in the event via the Zoom program.
Digital communication education to be discussed by academics for three days
Moving from the idea that communication education must adapt to the digitalization process in line with the requirements of the era, given the accelerating digital transformation of the media and communication sector today, the theme ‘Communication Education in the Digital Age’ forms the main agenda of this year’s 7th International Communication Days Symposium. Stating that the Communication Days have become a brand, Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör points out that the international dimension of the symposium also expands every year.

156 papers in 30 sessions
Providing information about the symposium program, Faculty of Communication Dean Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör said, "The seventh International Communication Days, organized annually by Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication, will be held on October 21-22-23 under the main title 'Communication Education in the Digital Age.' The symposium, which will host important guests from abroad and within the country, will be attended by approximately 180 academics. In the symposium, which will be organized in 30 sessions, prominent figures in their fields such as Prof. Dr. Erik Knudsen, Prof. Dr. Oya Tokgöz, Prof. Dr. Halil Nalçaoğlu, Prof. Dr. Maureen Ellis, Prof. Dr. Salvatore Scifo, Prof. Dr. Peyami Çelikcan, and journalist and researcher Emre Kızılkaya will participate as keynote speakers. Professors and associate professors from various communication faculties in Turkey will moderate the 30 sessions organized around specific themes. The abstract booklet and the symposium program for the symposium, which will be held online via Zoom due to the pandemic, have been published on the 7th Communication Days (İFİG) website. Immediately after the symposium ends, preparations for the full text papers book will begin, and as in previous years, the full text papers book will be published electronically this year."
Üsküdar Communication's branded event
Prof. Dr. Nazife Güngör stated that the Communication Days have become a scientific brand in its field, saying, "Üsküdar Üniversitesi Faculty of Communication International Communication Days (İFİG) is currently one of the very few scientific events held continuously and with the widest participation in the communication community, and has become a brand in its field. İFİG, which provides an environment for communication academics to meet regularly each year and make scientific contributions and share, is planned to be continued by expanding its sphere of influence on an international level."
Eighth Communication Days in May 2021
The 8th Communication Days Symposium, whose 7th edition will be held this year on October 21-22-23, 2020, is planned to take place on May 27-28-29, 2021.
