Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Fehmi Ağca: “It is necessary to create democratic awareness, especially among young people”
Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Fehmi Ağca from the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at Üsküdar Üniversitesi's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences emphasized the importance of fostering democratic awareness among young people. Ağca stated, “A coup is an illegitimate act. Democracy is based on the choices of the people, therefore, coups are illegitimate. FETÖ is no different from previous coups. It is especially necessary to create democratic awareness among young people. It is essential to ensure the continuation of this democratic awareness. For this reason, we remind young people every July 15. We must explain the necessity of protecting democracy; this is our duty. Otherwise, we cannot preserve our democracy. The Turkish people protected their country, so the FETÖ coup could not succeed. Our duty is to ensure the increasing continuation of this awareness and to protect our democracy.”
SKS Manager Sadık Paksoy: “Our country is the one that most embraces democracy”
SKS Manager Sadık Paksoy stated that Turkey is the country that most embraces democracy. Paksoy said, “In democracies, changes and transformations manifest through the free will of the people. This is demonstrated through elections. Indeed, when we compare with other countries in the world, our country, our nation, is the one that most embraces democracy, believes in it most, and expresses its choice very consciously in this regard. Our nation loves democracy, the republic, and free will.”
