Üsküdar University Globalization and Youth Issues Application and Research Center (KÜGEMER) was established to carry out studies for young people, who represent the most densely populated group in Turkey and are among the elements that make our country stand out in the international arena. The main purpose of the Center is to get to know young people with their agendas, goals, potentials and problems.
Objectives of the Center
a) To identify, explain and solve mental and social problems specific to the youth age and to carry out the necessary studies,
b To conduct advanced research to develop new solutions to youth problems and to develop new approaches that can be used in the clinic,
c) To carry existing practices further; to carry out studies to determine the effects of globalization, modernity and post-modernity on young people,
Areas of Activity of the Center:
a) Within the Center, to create and coordinate practical research projects in the field of youth problems in partnership with social sciences, and to use domestic and international support resources for this purpose,
b) To design and analyze advanced solutions such as new social techniques and implementation approaches that can be used in solving the youth problems in our country, and then to turn them into prototypes suitable for social work, and ultimately to ensure that they are used in policy development,
c) To conduct research on methods and research in the field of youth issues, to test their use in practice and to ensure their implementation in practice,
d) To carry out joint studies with national and international public and private organizations, research groups and scientists in order to achieve these objectives,
e) To contribute to national and international knowledge accumulation by organizing advanced specialization courses, seminars, workshops, congresses and symposiums in the field of youth issues,
f) To report the scientific and technical findings obtained at the end of application and research studies in this social problem area and to publish them in scientific journals, books, bulletins, etc,
g) To provide consultancy services to public institutions and organizations in areas where the work of the Center is needed,
h) To carry out other activities in accordance with the objectives of the Center as requested by the Board of Directors.
