Medical students across Türkiye met at Üsküdar University

Üsküdar Medical Students Association, which was hosted by Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, organized the '18th T4PE-O' event was held. Medical students were informed at the event organized by the Turkish Medical Students Association. During the two-day event, which was attended by many medical students from outside the city, topics such as how to prepare medical students for internships abroad and how to host students coming from abroad for internships were discussed.

The event was held at Üsküdar University NP Health Campus Ibn-i Sina Auditorium with great participation.

The event was attended by Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine Asst. Prof. Ali Cankut Tatlıparmak, Ahmet Yiğit İyiköşker, Aleyna Yılmaz, Burcu Korkmaz, Eda Ceylin, Eralp Abacı, Nur Dağdelen, Berkay Gündüz and Doğa Sanem Altuğ from the National Internship Exchange Team. The guests shared their experiences with the students of Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine.

Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, who serves as the international internship exchange director of the Turkish Medical Students Association, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Cankut Tatlıparmak shared his past experiences with the students. Tatlıparmak stated that "The period as SCOPE director was actually the worst, and it is the most unhappy period for me in IFMSA. It is such a busy job that one person should definitely not do it."

During the two-day event, various trainings, information sessions and interviews were held.

What is the aim of the Turkish Medical Students Association?

The Turkish Medical Students Association has member local representatives in 90 medical faculties across the country. Although it has a network of more than 30 thousand medical faculty students in Türkiye with its member medical faculties, it represents Türkiye internationally among 139 National Member Organizations in 130 countries within the IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations), of which it has been a member since its establishment.

It aims to be the largest comprehensive non-governmental organization that engages in advocacy activities to protect the rights of all medical students and represents all medical school students nationally and internationally by reaching all medical faculty students in Türkiye, operating in social and scientific fields, developing the knowledge, perspectives and skills of future physicians, and attaching importance to global health.

By providing the necessary scientific and social environment for medical faculty students to reach competence in their professional lives, it aims to contribute to their becoming universal physicians who are aware of global health and environmental problems.
