Collaboration between Üsküdar University and BİYOSAD

Üsküdar University and the Biotechnology Industrialists Association (BİYOSAD) came together to develop strong collaborations in the field of biotechnology and contribute to the growth of the ecosystem. During the meeting, which aimed to enhance interaction between academia and industry, potential areas of cooperation and joint project proposals were discussed.

Within the scope of the meeting and site visit held at the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone and Biotechnology Valley, efforts to integrate academic knowledge with the needs of the industry were evaluated.

The meeting was attended by President of Üsküdar University Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, Vice Rector Prof. Türker Tekin Ergüzel, Deputy Secretary General Cumhur Bakır, Executive Assistant to the Rector Naringül Aksu, TRGENMER Director Asst. Prof. Cihan Taştan, Director of Research and Development and Innovation Policies Assoc. Prof. Müge Ensari Özay, TRGENMER Research and Development Officer Beyza Aydın, and BrainPark Technology Transfer Office Project Manager Bayram Güneş.

BİYOSAD was represented by Dr. Ercan Vardar, Pınar Kayhan, Anıl Uçan, Zeynep Göcen, and Aybüke Çelik Kalkan.

Strengthening university–industry integration

During the meeting, joint research and development projects aimed at strengthening university–industry integration were discussed. In this context, strategic cooperation opportunities with the Biotechnology Specialized Organized Industrial Zone were also evaluated.

Aiming for sustainability in the biotechnology ecosystem

Internship, mentorship, and workforce development programs for students were among the prominent topics of the meeting. In addition, long-term collaborations that would create sustainable synergy within the national biotechnology ecosystem were emphasized through joint platforms focused on bio-innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.

New projects to enhance Türkiye’s global competitiveness

Both institutions emphasized their openness to new projects that would enhance Türkiye’s global competitiveness in the field of biotechnology.

The meeting concluded in a positive atmosphere, with a shared commitment to deepening cooperation and establishing a joint working schedule.
